Stojan Stevanovic was born on April 26, 1965 in Lopare, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
After completing high school in Tuzla, he worked in Lopare for four years and after getting married in 1988 he moved to Switzerland with his wife where he started working in hospitality sector.
In 1998, after obtaining a degree in hotel management in Lucerne, he opened Chinese restaurants and the restaurant Byzantine in Zurich. After years of working in the hotel industry, he now owns two hotels in the central part of Switzerland.
He invested around 5 million BAM in his hometown (motel, wedding hall with up to 800 seats, residential building with 38 residential units).
He is one of the founders of the Association of Majevicans in Switzerland. He has been the president of the Association of Serbian Businessmen of Switzerland since 2004 and since 2019 has been the president of the association “Roots”. He is a well-known humanist in the homeland and the diaspora.
He is married with three children (Aleksandra, 31, MD, Danijela, 28, civil engineer and Živan, 20, hospitality student in Lucerne).
